Mouth Cancer Without Smoking Oral, oropharyngeal or simply mouth cancers are the sixth most prevalent type of cancer in the world, and include tumours of the lip, alveolar bone, gingiva, buccal mucosa, floor of the mouth, oropharynx, salivary glands, maxillary sinus, and movable tongue. 90 percent of all cases of oral cancer are squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs); also, 95 percent of these patients are older than 40 years old, with an average age at diagnosis of 60 years. SCC of the tongue is most commonly seen in men between the ages of 40 and 50.
